Bennett University has given me an opportunity that I will always be grateful for, as they allowed me to pursue an internship while doing my graduation. I plan on pursuing my passion and career in HR, so I applied for an HR internship at a mid-sized company in my area.
From day one, I knew this would be a fantastic opportunity. I was excited to be able to work alongside seasoned HR professionals and apply the knowledge and skills I had learned in the classroom to real-life situations.
My internship experience was challenging yet rewarding. One of the critical skills I picked up during my time in communication was essential in HR. I was involved in communicating effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and employees.

As an intern, I was responsible for organizing and conducting employee training, drafting job descriptions and company policies, and assisting with the recruitment and selection process. I also had the opportunity to sit in on several meetings with management to discuss employee issues, concerns, and grievances. I also gained a sneak peek into the culture of Hyderabad and its lifestyle. Although I am a native of Hyderabad, I didn’t get a chance to spend much time as I stayed in other states majorly. Thanks to kind and encouraging colleagues during the internship, they brought Hyderabad into the limelight.

One hurdle I faced as an intern was dealing with employee conflicts. I had to learn to remain impartial and objective when mediating employee disputes. I quickly realized that conflict resolution was a crucial HR skill that could not be understood solely in the classroom.
My internship allowed me to observe an HR employee’s impact on the company and its employees. For example, I worked on developing an employee training program for a new software system that the company had implemented. After the training, I received positive feedback from employees who felt more confident using the new system.
I also had the opportunity to help with the recruitment and selection process for a new department being created. I screened resumes, conducted phone interviews, and scheduled in-person interviews. Being a part of the hiring process and seeing new employees come on board was incredibly fulfilling.

My internship experience was invaluable. I gained a deep understanding of the inside functioning of HR and the role it plays in an organization. I used the crucial knowledge that I had gained in day-to-day activities. I applied skills to real-life situations that I had learned from experienced professionals. I highly recommend pursuing an internship in HR to anyone interested in this field. It is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience, learn new skills, and contribute meaningfully to an organization. And most importantly, it can be a stepping stone to a successful career in HR.
